Bears Wives and Players bring Holiday Cheer to SEDOL
The Sixth Annual Bears Wives luncheon for students at SEDOL was a great success. The cafeteria was filled with children of all ages and holiday decorations were all around but the colors were mostly blue and orange amongst the children and staff.
"This is my first year attending and it is very exciting" says Tom Moline, District Superintendent.
The Bears who visited and worked the crowd were Tight End Kellen Davis and Defensive Tackle Anthony Adams along with rookie Defensive Tackle Stephen Paea. The wives included Andenika Adams, Jill Davis, Susannah Paea, Lindsay Steltz and Nicole Toeaina.
When the Bears were introduced the kids asked all kinds of questions-even from some Packers Fans! They asked about what kinds of weather was best to play in to whether or not they had been to a super bowl.
The kids enjoyed a great lunch of pizza from Emil's in Grayslake while the Bears were able to walk around and talk to everyone. The younger ones were allowed to visit with Santa as well who was almost as tall as Kellen Davis.
Once lunch was done there was time to work on making a picture frame to show off their picture with the players. There was also tackle to try on and gift bags of posters and other goodies that the wives put together went home with many of the kids.
“We just love having the Bears come visit every year. It means so much for the kids to talk to them and see that they are just regular people” said Ann Subry, of the SEDOL Foundation.
