Warren-Newport Public Library Named Top Workplace Again!

The Chicago Tribune has ranked the Warren-Newport Public Library District in Gurnee among the Top 100 Workplaces for 2012. Among small organizations in the Chicago area, WNPL scored 30th of 138 small companies, with high marks for employee engagement.This is the second year for the honor.

On Nov. 12 in Chicago, library director Stephen Bero and  trustee Andrea Farr Capizzi attended an award reception downtown honoring Top Workplaces.

WNPL currently employs 100 staff members who serve over 430,000 annual visitors with a collection of 283,000 items in a 55 square -mile district of 66,700 residents, 37,000 of whom have library cards.

The Warren-Newport Public Library District, founded by volunteers in 1973, covers all or most of Warren and Newport townships, including Gurnee, Wadsworth, Park City, Wildwood, Grandwood Park, Old Mill Creek, and portions of Grayslake, Millburn, Lake Villa, Libertyville and Waukegan.
