Obituary: Russell Otto Hoeppner

Services have been scheduled for Russell Otto Hoeppner, of Grayslake, who passed away Sunday.

Russell Otto Hoeppner, a resident of Grayslake, passed away Sunday October 28, 2012 at the age of 85. He was born May 15, 1927 in Chicago, IL.

Russell was a veteran of the Navy having served during World War II. He served as Past Master of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge #492, an Honorary Member Sequoit Lodge #827 and Rising Sun Lodge #115. He was Grand Lecturer for the State of Illinois, the past TPM of Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite, Valley of Chicago, and was past chairman of the Degree Team. Russell was a member of the Medinah Shrine and the Medinah Patrol Color Guard.

Russell is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlene, whom he wed on June 13, 1948 in Chicago, IL, his children Lynn Hoeppner of Grayslake and Scott Hoeppner of Grayslake, and he was the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother William.

Friends of the family may visit on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. with a Masonic service commencing at 7:30pm at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM, 410 E. BELVIDERE RD., GRAYSLAKE, IL 60030.

Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 2211 N. Oak Park Ave. Chicago, IL 60707.
