Olympic Athletes Hail from Nearby Towns
The following athletes are among those who will compete in London this summer. The Olympics begin July 27.
Matt Grevers is headed to London to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Those who watch the Olympics this summer can keep their eyes peeled for athletes who hail from nearby towns.
While no Grayslake residents are competing in London this summer, the USA roster includes athletes from Lake Forest, Riverwoods, Winnetka, Crystal Lake and Algonquin, among other Illinois towns.
According to the Team USA website, the 19 Illinois athletes include:
- Ellis Coleman, Wrestling, Oak Park
- Anthony Davis, Basketball, Chicago
- Conor Dwyer, Swimming, Winnetka
- Matt Grevers, Swimming, Lake Forest
- Evan Jager, Steeplechase, Algonquin
- Amy LePeilbet, Soccer, Crystal Lake
- Candace Parker, Basketball, Naperville
- Bob Willis, Sailing, Chicago
- Christina Loukas, Diving, Riverwoods
- Sarah Zelenka, Rowing, Itasca

Don't forget Volleyball!! Mary "Nellie" Spicer from Barrington is on the Women's Olympic Volleyball team and Sean Rooney from Wheaton is on the Men's Volleyball Team representing the USA.

Yes, Anna Li in an alternate on the Women's gymnastics team. She is from the Legacy Elite gym.
