Readers' Choice: Best Preschool
Who do you trust to care for something precious: your littlest children, in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Grayslake or Libertyville?
The last couple of weeks has been about reader tastes in food.
This week, we're asking readers something more serious: which preschool do you think does the best job in either Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Grayslake or Libertyville?
We know parents prioritize different things when choosing a preschool, so we also want to know why you think the preschool you voted for is the best.
Do they have the most caring instructors? The greatest communication with parents? The most creative activities for toddlers?
Let us know in the comments -- and help your fellow parents out when it comes to choosing a preschool.
There are pre-schools listed under Directory, but if we're leaving one off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it.
So here's the drill: Sign into our site and then comment below with your vote. Tell us why you love your preschool. What makes it so good?
You have until 5 p.m. Tuesday (April 24) to let us know your favorite preschool.
On Wednesday morning (April 25), we will post the top three finalists — determined by your votes in this article, on Facebook and on Twitter — in a poll. And it will be time to vote again — this time for the champion.
Voting will continue through 5 p.m. Friday (April 27). We will post the Readers' Choice winner first thing Saturday morning.

Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School!!! All three of my children attended this preschool . The teachers are phenomenal, the activities for the children are creative and exciting, and best of all the parents get to be an active part of their child's education.

I've been involved with the co-op for 20 years as a parent, the director, and a teacher. Hands down I think it is the BEST place to start your children's educational career. Parental involvement is the key to success in education, why not start off on the right foot!

Growing with Grace at Grace Lutheran Church in Libertyville! Amazing staff and wonderful learning experience for preschool children. This is my last child going through preschool and we have been to 2 other preschools in town. Growing with Grace is the best preschool I have ever been a part of; and I was a preschool teacher, a picky one too! Love it!

I can see where you might be suspicious, but I truly do love Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School - and I think the other parents that posted just feel as passionate about it. I signed my girls up for it kind of sight unseen because we were in VA at the time but knew we would be moving to Grayslake in the fall. I loved the philosophy of the parent involvement (we take turns volunteering in the classroom, cleaning up, and bringing snack). I also loved the Prairie Crossing Location and the bright, clean, cheery classrooms (that I could tell from online). Well, it is almost the end of the school year and we couldn't be happier. My girls had a seamless transition to their new school and that says A LOT because they loved their previous preschool in VA which was a private home. This school is bigger than that but they felt the love right away. They look forward to going to school every day and have done so many fun things from art projects to field trips. I don't think it can be beat!

Hands down unless you are full time working parent, choose Gorton Drop In Center instead of a preschool. The staff are with out a doubt the best and teach and nurture each child individually. They teach everything from writing skills to reading time, science and a letter of the week where every day your child could learn something new. Even fine motor skills like cutting out paper. Art everyday for the creative and no nap time unless your child should need it. There is so much to do that your child could not get bored. You can select the hours you would like your child to stay which allows a parent a lot of flexibility
. Your children get used to playing with other children of different ages and they learn how to adapt as some children come in during the course of the day while others leave early. It is worth every penny and if I knew then what I know now. Gorton would have been the primary up to Kindergarten and I would have never delt with preschool at all.

The Grayslake Co-op is by far the best preschool! The family atmosphere, parental involvement, and incredible staff all work together to create a wonderful first learning experience for children. All of the teachers are certified in either early childhood or elementary education- something that is rare in a preschool setting!

The Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School was the best for our family. One of the indicators for later success in school is parent involvement, and the Co-op model is built around that concept. Not only are my kids successful in D46, but we have made lifelong friends with many Co-op families. They have been teaching in our community since 1976 for a reason!

There are so many great preschools in the area, but we chose Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School based on the parent involvement and play-based philosophy. All of the teachers are fantastic with years of experience plus elementary/early childhood education degrees. Both of my kids have loved their preschool experience; hands on creative projects, monthly field trips, pride in being assigned to classroom jobs; and I have loved experiencing it with them. By volunteering on a rotation, you get to know the teachers, parents, and classmates personally. The result is a great school community...well really, a family, which is why you see so many votes for this outstanding school.

We've been attending Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School for 7 years with 3 to go. We chose this school because we heard the teachers were experienced and well educated, and that the curriculum was creative. After experiencing the school, we loved the parent involvement, and made lasting friendships with the other families who also valued the warm, family focused school. It was the right choice for our family.

Hands down, it's the Goddard School in Third Lake. Our daughter has thrived at the school and is smart, happy and well rounded. My daughter spent 4 years with wonderful teachers like Miss Tracy, Heather, Rachael, Krystal, and Miss Beth at Goddard School Third Lake. She tells me now that Goddard was the best ever. She said she learned more than the kids in her 1st grade class. She also continues to stay friends with kids from her Goddard Kindergarten.
Goddard School Third lake provides magic shows, puppet shows, reading, games...it's really safe, fun, and provides peace of mind for the parents.
I wish there was a program for the 1-8th grades that was so full of fun and learning for the kids.

Having taken our daughter to multiple daycare facilities in the area, We are extremely pleased with ending up at Goddard School in Third lake. The results, staff, education and family atmosphere of Goddard School in Third Lake are above and beyond many schools in the area. Our daughter looks forward to going to daycare everyday and comes home with stories of what she learned and how much she enjoyed her day. We will keep her there until she graduates kindergarten and have our 3 month old starting shortly. I would recommend Goddard to any family looking for structure, childhood development and learning and a pleasant atmosphere.

Miss Mary's Peppermint Stick in Grayslake - Mary has such an amazing presence with the kids, as do all of her staff. There is a sense of calmness, and it is so nurturing. Only one of my four attended there (we did not live here for the other 3), and it was, hands down, the best experience of all. Would highly recommend Miss Mary's to anyone!!

The Goddard School in Third Lake - hands down. When we were choosing day care, we visited MANYother local care facilities (and I cried between each) before arriving at Goddard School in Third Lake. We toured the facility to learn of the WONDERFUL programs for children even as young as 6 weeks old. Some highlights for us:
* VERY flexible hours for care- they do 1/2 days, full days, 2 days a week or all week long- whatever you need.
* Actual LEARNING programs, as opposed to just babysitting. They POTTY TRAINED both girls, have been teaching them colors, numbers, letters, reading, writing, computer training, YOGA, sign language, and Spanish
* Vibrant colors of every room / hallway
* Engaged Staff! Everywhere you go, the teachers and staff are smiling, they clearly love the children and what they do (VERY little turnover!)
* ON-SITE chef - large variety of fresh, healthy, meals every day- no canned spaghettios for our little ones!
* Individualized care, as each child needs. There was no feeling of getting "lost" here - every child matters.
Last, our oldest is quickly approaching school age, and we've been visiting area schools to decide where to enroll her. In every single visit, the schools have been EXTREMELY complimentary when we told them our children are at Goddard. I wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard a teacher or principal say "OH - they're at GODDARD? That's the best program anywhere! Kids that come out of there are always so much better prepared!"

Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School - while I registered there initially because my aunt was a teacher's aide at the time, I never regretted our choice for the 5 years my children attended. It's a family of moms AND dads who truly care about their children and yours throughout the year. The class sizes are manageable so that the teachers can provide more individualized attention w/o forsaking their curriculum goals. My children were (and still are if we see a teacher in public) greeted with a smile and often a hug each morning. GCNS provided a socially responsible and interactive curriculum with a focus on being not only good students, but good citizens.

We live in Green Oaks and have been taking our now-1-yr. old son to the Gorton Children's Drop-In Center in Lake Forest for 6+ months. Love the quality, flexibility and "reservation-based" nature of the childcare because my schedule changes weekly. He loves playing indoors and outside with the other children. I love that the teachers will feed him, diaper him, put him in 1 of several new cribs to nap "on schedule" - he can't get to the toys fast enough when I drop him off and is always happy when I pick him up.

Kinderhaven Preschool Academy in Lake Forest is OUTSTANDING! My two older children both attended Kinderhaven and had wonderful experiences. They both made friends that they still keep in touch with despite attending different elementary schools. Our third child will be attending in the fall of 2013. Kinderhaven is a place that offers young children the opportunity to feel empowered. The kids have a say in what they study and they become actively engaged in their learning as a result. Participating in compassion projects helps them learn that they can have a positive impact on the lives of others because they actually get the chance to do it. The incredible variety of art projects that the children participate in each year are unique and amazing. Both of my children express missing being at Kinderhaven and cherish opportunities to go back and visit. The values that are at the core of this school have given my children a great start toward becoming compassionate, inquisitive, creative, and confident people.

Hands down Kinderhaven Preschool Academy in Lake Forest. An incredibly enriching Reggio-inspired environment where the students have a voice in their curriculum, are free to explore their own creativity through a variety of mediums, and are never underestimated. The compassion component gives them early exposure to the responsibility of being part of a greater community, and they thrive believing that they themselves can make a difference. We are so lucky to have found such a well-rounded early childhood program.

Kinderhaven Preschool Academy in Lake Forest is the rock star of preschools. Because of the amazing dialogue with the teachers, common interests among the children are uncovered and together the classroom develops, learns and grows through amazingly creative and touching works of art. Through the loving care of wonderful teachers our children have learned to be very creative, inquisitive and love learning! The compassion taught also sets Kinderhaven apart as it teaches our children at a very young age, how important it is to give to others who have less than we do.

Grayslake Cooperative nursery school. As a graduate from this fine establishment. I can honestly say looking back that the involvement of parents everyday not only made the environment more comfortable for shy children like me but also helps to develop a closer relationship between parent and child. In a world where things are now becoming less and less personal I truly believe that this school is one of the few left in Grayslake to really stand by parent involvement.

The Goddard School Third Lake is by far the best preschool in Lake County! My son has been with Goddard for 3 yrs. and is now in one of the best Kindergarten classes around. The teachers , directors, assistants, etc. are exceptional. The atmosphere is bright and engaging and the owner , David Raye, takes pride in running a top notch school. I visited a lot schools before selecting Goddard. I was impressed from the very first visit and have not been disappointed since!

If you asked a 2nd grader to name the continents, every one of the students who attended Mary's Peppermint Stick Preschool could quickly answer. Kinderhaven Preschool Academy is an unbelievable place where our son has spent three years and we are already sad about his little time left there before he goes to Kindergarten. They have taught him everything from writing to nutrition to sign language, Spanish, and art. Mostly, they teach them how to be compassionate, how to treat others and give back to the world they live in. Their art department is amazing and the projects they work on are truly amazing. Our son has gained so much at this school and gained such self confidence because the teachers believe in him and truly care. We look forward to sending our daughter when it is time.

Kinderhaven Preschool Academy in Lake Forest. We switched to KPA this year -watching our daughter blossom has been a true joy. Every day she asks if it's a school day. What makes Kinderhaven special and the best choice for our family?
*dedicated, passionate staff lead by Dr. Penny Robbins
*Reggio-inspired curriculum - children's ideas and interest areas are explored. Children are treated as valued individuals; how empowering to have a voice!
*compassion for others - lessons for life, woven into the culture of the school
*art taken seriously - proof of this is currently on display at Lake Forest Bank and Trust (west side of LF) Four and five year olds were enabled to explore their passion for all things Dale Chihuly. Amazing!
*convenient location (LF Rec Center)

Ms. Mary's Peppermint Preschool, for sure!! This is a school where children learn the fundamentals every person needs to have a successful life ahead of them, they learn to respect others, their environment around them and most important themselves. It is amazing what the children learn with out you or them even realizing it. You can always point out a child that has come out of this loving, nurturing, and very well rounded school. It also says a lot about a school when the the teachers have been around years ( no yearly turn over of teachers). Due to the obvious passion these woman have for preschool education, they continue to enrich and educate themselves for the greater good of the students and parents. My husband and I are very proud to have sent our children to MPSPS and feel very blessed that such a fine school was right here in Grayslake.

St. Gilbert Footprints - Being able to go from PreK - 8th grade with the same kids, same families and same school is such a blessing. The teachers are the best and the program is well rounded. There is also a lot of flexibility in the program - 2, 3 or 5 days, half day, full day or they can stay until 6pm which is great for working parents.

Growing With Grace in Libertyville is truly a premier preschool! The blend of a traditional family feel and 21st century curriculum make Growing with Grace the BEST preschool. Their play based approach is strongly supported by research as it is not a secret that children learn through PLAY! Their early literacy approach is based on phonemic awareness and their staff is always reaching out to extend and grow their curriculum. Our family felt an immediate connection and have grown to love the director and staff! Hats off to Growing with Grace!

When the time approaches to loosen the apron strings and send your little one out into the school scene it is of the most importance to find a school that meets so many requirements. Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School, I found, was the absolute best. Coming from a long line of educators, requirements and expectations were at a upmost high. The Co-Op, met every single one! The teachers there, I cant say enough good things about them, lets just say they all met their calling. The families, wow! My children now are in 5th and 2nd grades, and I still keep in contact with not only the teachers (yes, its true) but some of the families as well. Grayslake Co-Op is in my opinion, the best place to send your children to start their education off to a wonderful and fun filled learning experience.

Grace Lutheran's Growing with Grace Preschool is by far the best out there. I have my two girls in the program. One in the two's program and one in the 4s program. All teachers are so loving and treat the kids just like their own. I am shocked sometimes how much they have learned. Letters, Numbers, Spanish, Writing and everything in between...it is done with a loving hand. The teachers do a wonderful job giving me feedback on my kids and help me with many things I am working with them at home on. In Libertyville, we are very blessed to have so many wonderful schools, but I have found a personal touch with Grace.

It sounds like there are many wonderful choices here in our area! For our family the best preschool is Precious Lambs Preschool (PLP) in Grayslake. My daughter loves chapel and really understands the Bible stories and knows that God loves her. Thanks, PLP!

We truly love The Goddard School in Third Lake. They provide a nurturing, stimulating, safe and fun environment for all of the children. The teachers are passionate about their profession and it shows in each child as they are excited about what they've learned and are able to retain the knowledge long after the lesson plan is done. The lesson plans and curriculum are age-appropriate, yet challenges the kids. My husband and I joke that we need to enroll, so we can keep up with our daughter. The Family Board encourages parents to become involved and engaged in their child's education and the teachers meet with the parents on a regular basis to provide updates on the child's progress. This school provides a fabulous foundation for a lifelong love of learning, working together and community service. We've had a fabulous experience there and will truly miss it when our daughter graduates kindergarten next year.

Old School Montessori in Grayslake would get our vote. Not just because our small child had attended their newly established pre-school program for little ones (she was one of the first students), but because we've experienced other institutions prior. My opinion is that the program offered at OSM cannot be beat for someone looking for a community based feel with a great balance of play and learning provided by a fantastic team of educators. It combines a truly hands-on organic learning experience with exceptional Montessori educated teachers. My wife and I are both working professionals and it provides us with a sense of comfort knowing our children are in such a wonderful environment. It won’t surprise me if the larger schools receive the majority of votes because OSM is unique and not as widely known school in Grayslake and surrounding communities. Personally, I’d like to keep it that way (because I like the smaller not overly crowded schools, and I’m selfish ;)) but from a community perspective I feel obligated to invite any parent to check them out and actually compare to the other schools. We did, and we’ve never looked back! Our oldest child is also currently attending (in 1st grade) and we truly believe the Montessori structure is a superb educational model that will certainly provide our girls with an advantage as they embark down the path of academia and life. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to be able to send our children there.

Old School Montessori.
Exceptional, caring, experienced teachers and a phenomenally effective educational philosophy that respects individuality and encourages curiosity.
"Kids don't stop asking questions because they lose interest. It's the other way around—they lose interest because they stop asking questions."
Quote from a short, animated synthesis of the Montessori philosophy:

Hmm, 99% of these comments are for schools in Grayslake. That's great for people...in Grayslake. In any case, we go to Village Green Montessori in Libertyville. We were blown away by the curriculum and the general attitude of the kids on our first visit, and I think they have the right balance of Montessori principles mixed with traditional. They also have extra rotational activities like yoga, music and science. I like having three highly skilled accredited teachers for my child; my personal opinion is that I am not sure how I would feel having some random parent teaching her, such as in a co-op. When she gets home, I involve her further with spelling, reading, creative games, etc so she definitely doesn't miss out on parental involvement, which I agree is very important. For us, it's VGM all the way!

Village Green Montessori is the best school for us, and it's conveniently located in Downtown Libertyville. My child has learned grace and manners, while still maintaining her free-spirited 4-year-old personality. St. Gilbert School is far and away the best choice for preschool (or any grammar school level of education)! SGS combines excellent developmental academic principles with a solid faith-based foundation in a caring, secure and nurturing environment that prepares preschool students to excel as kindergarteners. In addition, unlike some preschools, SGS preschoolers can continue their outstanding educations at the same school, with the same friends, through 8th grade with a consistent foundation of faith-based values securely in place. No contest, St. Gilbert!

Definitely Village Green Montessori! The staff is there because they LOVE the kids and love working with them to achieve confidence and independence. Children are encouraged to explore their passions and learn through them. They focus on the often overlooked life skills set as well as introducing the regularly missed education factor of standard preschools. Kids learn self-regulation with simple task such as being able to choose when in their day they partake in their snack, social skills by working with peers in a group, independence by doing work on their own, self confidence when they learn to master a task that they have been working independently on. The school teaches children a wide range of skills from pouring exercises, sorting, manipulating objects and art. They also have lessons in science, music, math, yoga, Spanish, geography and optional classes such as art technique and cooking. My kids are always eager to show me their new skills! At almost 5 my daughter can read her first words, do simple addition, knows the names of the planets, knows many colors in Spanish, knows the names of the countries and is working on understanding a calendar. As a parent the added bonus is the flexibility in the schedule. We get to choose our days; we can add lunch or extend to a full day so that their school schedule best fits our family schedule. They also allow parents to get involved based on their desires, not a requirement. Thanks you VGM for loving and growing our kids!

A Village Green Montessori in Libertyville is the best preschool and Kindergarten! The owner and staff is fabulous. It is a warm, caring and loving environment that all kids feel comfortable in. My daughter has been there since she turned 3 and is graduating kindergarten this year. She is way ahead of the game when she goes to attend 1st grade next year. Thanks VGM!

We like the Village Green Montessori in Libertyville. The teachers are very good and truly get to know each child. The child is allowed time to complete a project, even if it takes more than one day. The children also develop confidence and take pride in their work. VGM provides a great foundation for each child.

Grayslake Cooperative Nursery School gets my vote for best in the area. Myself as well as my other 2 siblings are all graduates from GCNS. The pre-school provides a safe and healthy learning environment for all of its students and also allows the parents to be involved in their child's learning experience. I have been able to maintain many of my friendships I made at GCNS as a pre-schooler all throughout high school and some throughout college as well. This school is definitely deserving of the title best in the area.

A Village Green Montessori Preschool (aka VGM) in Libertyville, IL has my vote! Amazing group of teachers and staff. I've sent 3 boys through this program from the time it opened in 2002 through 2009. All three of boys were well prepared socially, emotionally, AND academically when it was time to enter public school. Their love for learning and their ability to think outside the box has continued throughout their elementary and junior high years. I truly credit their preschool years/experience (which occurs during such an impressionable time of their lives) to their success. My word of advice when seeking the right preschool for your child is to not only get recommendations from other "mom mentor's" but visit different schools and spend some time observing in the classroom before choosing a school for your child. Also, know what your objectives and expectations are for your child prior to your visit. This will help you determine which preschool would be the best fit for your child.

Village Green Montessori in Libertyville has been a wonderful experience for our entire family. The teachers there have sparked a sense of wonder and have fostered a love of learning in both of my children that will be long lasting. They engage the children in hands-on activities and allow each child to progress at his or her own pace. The teachers have created warm and inviting classrooms for both the kids and the parents. It's clear the teachers love what they do. Their enthusiasm for learning new things is contagious and their genuine compassion has made both of my children feel safe to make mistakes and try new things. The multi-age classrooms have generated a real sense of community in which the kids learn from and teach each other. This has developed such as sense of confidence in my children over their 3 years at Village Green. I could go on and on about how wonderful VGM is. It has exceeded all of my expectations, and I will be forever grateful to the staff for all they have done for my children. Village Green is a truly special, inspiring school.

I would highly recommend Libertyville Co-Op Nursery School. It has been part of the community for 70 years and all 3 of my children loved attending school at LCNS. There are examples of 2 and even 3 generations of families attending LCNS. In addition to their wonderful pre-school curriculum, they give back to the local community with their Passport to Libertyville fundraiser and as an organizer for the recent Libertyville Cash mob supporting Parkview Gourmet and Mickey Finn's. It's great they are setting an example of giving back to the local community at the preschool level.

Kinderhaven Preschool Academy In Lake Forest!!!!! We have never been more confident in our decision to send all 3 of our children to Kinderhaven Preschool Academy. The staff is nurturing, committed and welcomes every child and family with open arms. All of our children have different personality and learning styles. Saint Gilberts! They have the most wonderful caring teachers. Even after the school ends around 2pm my daughter goes to the afterschool program and adores the teachers there as well. It is a is Catholic school, but the kids do not have to be Catholic to go and not all are. The crazy part is the great value. My daughter could attend from 7:15am-6pm (she isn't there that long, but they are open until then) and it is cheaper than any daycare center in the area. She comes home with a couple art projects a day and they have music, gym, and art class as well as Library time just like the older kids. It is a wonderful enviorment. The teacher sends a daily email telling the parents what they do in school. Why I ask my daughter what she did that day and she says "I don't know" I bust out the email on my phone and read an activity out loud and she then tells me all about it!

Precious Lambs Preschool has been an incredible blessing to our family. Our kids adore their teachers and the classroom experience. They feel absolutely at home, loved and safe when at preschool. The teachers are so incredibly nurturing and supportive of each child's unique learning style. The teachers take every opportunity to foster relationships with the children and their families. There are many opportunities for parents to be a little or a lot involved as well. Precious Lambs Preschool is an awesome, caring community that my family is honored to experience during this critical time in our children's lives.

We experienced 5 wonderful, fun years at Precious Lambs Preschool in Grayslake. PLP embraces everyone; it employs a strong curriculum with amazing creativity; and -- bottom line -- the kids love their dynamic and open-minded teachers and director. The families and professional teachers are genuinely kind and great examples for children, and volunteering can take on many different and varied forms. We continue to be impressed with PLP's mindset toward scholarships, as well as its afternoon kindergarten enrichment program (established years ago). It's not about being trendy -- from good manners to numbers and reading to sharing with others to being kindergarten-ready (and beyond!), this is a preschool that really has it together.
Imagine what our schools would be like if ALL children received a first-rate foundation of preschool education like so many are describing?

Village Green Montessori in Libertyville is excellent. I was not particularly a fan of the Montessori system, but when I saw how well it works at VGM, I'm a convert. My daughter is truly getting a well-rounded preschool experience, with ample experience in math, science, reading, writing, etc. She just turned four and can do simple addition and subtraction, can read and write basic words, has greatly developed her manual dexterity, interacts in a polite & patient manner with children and adults... I could go on an on, but you get the idea. And she is not an exception at VGM. The excellent teachers motivate and educate in a fun and loving manner, and the older kids learn to help the younger ones learn. While I cannot speak from experience about any other school, I can say this is truly an exceptional preschool, and VGM gets our vote!

First Pres Preschool in Lake Forest is amazing! The Director Ruth Luke and teachers are all amazing, many of them even have their Masters. I feel that kindness is one of the most important skills taught at the school. The teachers make learning fun, and many times the children have no idea that they are learning a major concept for their future schooling, because the cirriculum is taught in such a fun way. The Preschool has exceeded my expectations in every sense and I feel my daughter who will be entering Kindergarten this fall will be well prepared.

The director is WONDERFUL and the teachers go above and beyone to make sure that all of the children are loved and are learning. The spiritual gifts that my family has been given through the love, example and teaching of Christ through the teachers and staff at Gloryland has been a true blessing to all of us. My 8 year old son has such a strong Faith, and my 5 year old and 3 year old are all following in his footsteps because of the love and security to share their Faith with everyone at Gloryland. Goddard -Third Lake is a treasure. This nationally recognized Goddard school and management staff have established a cirriculum and staff at the Head of The Class. Not just in the Lake County area, but nationally as well. The evidence is not only seen by it's local and national accolades, but more importantly by the level of education and care our daughter is receiving. Thanks Dave and Barb.

First Presbyterian in Lake Forest is the most loving school environment imaginable. We aren't Presbyterian, but chose it over two schools nearby that are affiliated with our denomination because my family has a long, wonderful history there. It is NAEYC accredited, one of the only ones in the area (and this is not some rubber stamp, it is a tough accreditation process). The ratios are great, the facility is warm and welcoming, the curriculum is all about widening schema and not about jamming in early academics. My son comes home and talks about all sorts of interesting things.

We have been blessed to have Precious Lambs Preschool as the first educational experience for our three children! For 8 years my children have been going to PLP in Grayslake, and have chosen Ms. Jill, Ms. Lori, Ms. Denise, Ms Sarah, Ms. Laurie and Ms. Shelia as their forever favorites! The sweet, caring and mentoring teachers have provided an amazing second home to my children that they will never forget! They truly share all their gifts of teaching with each and every child. My children have gone to Kindergarten completely prepared for "real" school and ask if they can go back to their favorite PLP classroom! The small family feel of the school has also allowed all of us to make life long friends! PLP is a hidden treasure here in Grayslake!

Mary's Peppermint Stick in Grayslake has a phenomenal learning environment. I don't know how it could be equalled let alone surpassed.

Old School Montessori - has a great teaching and caring environment- they recognize that each child is his/her own individual and will progress at their own pace - My 2 kids are poles apart but they both love the school and are blossoming at their own pace .We had checked out a few of the aforementioned schools and settled on Old School Montessori

Old School Montessori in Grayslake. OSM is excellent at developing and promoting the best education style for each child. I have 3 kids ranging in age from 13 to 6. All 3 kids are currently attending or attended OSM. My kids have very different personailities and learning styles but each has a strong sense of self/independence, great motivation (even the 13 year old) , and an excellent educational foundation. We are very happy with OSM.
