On Friday, the Lake County Sheriff's Department responded to a man with a gun barricaded in his Ingleside home. On Thursday, a suicidal subject forced a Lake Villa school to be placed on lock down.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office reported that Frank Lesnicki, 35, of Ingleside, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm, Revoked FOID Card, Domestic Battery, Aggravated Assault Use of a Deadly Weapon, and Resisting a Peace Officer.

According to the sheriff's officer, Lesnicki pointed a Detectives Model .38 Special Snub Nose 6 Shot Revolver at his girlfriend’s head and told her he was going to kill her.

Lesnicki’s jail bond was set at $100,000. He was released from custody after posting 10 percent of the required bond. Lesnicki’s next court date is scheduled for Dec. 13, reported the sheriff's office.

At 1:37 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 26000 Block of Squaw Road in Ingleside regarding a domestic situation. A 35-year-old man barricaded himself inside the residence with a gun. 

Sheriff’s deputies secured the perimeter of the residence and were in communications with the subject. Area schools were placed on lock down as precautionary measures. 

At 3:30 p.m. Friday, the subject was taken into custody without incident.

“I am extremely proud of our officers having avoided a potentially dangerous situation by handling this in a brave, calm, and professional manner,” said Sheriff Mark Curran.

Suicidal subject

At 11:24 a.m. Thursday, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suicidal subject who was on foot after leaving their residence near Olive Martin School in Lake Villa. Deputies placed Olive Martin School on lock down and stationed a deputy at the school to ensure safety.

AIR-ONE Emergency Response Coalition was requested to assist in locating the subject. 

At 12:30 p.m. the subject exited the woods near Grand Avenue and Fairfield Road in Lake Villa. The subject was unarmed and cooperative.

The subject was transported to Vista Health in Lindenhurst for a mental evaluation. Due to the diligence of the Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies at the scene, AIR-ONE Emergency Response Coalition was not needed.

Olive Martin School Officials were notified and operations resumed as normal.
