Something's Brewing coffee shops located at 1126 E. Washington Street and 82 Center Street were recently named the recipient of the 2012 Economic Development Award by the Village of Grayslake Economic Development Commission.
Owner Linda Scholz will be presented with the award later this month. She also owns Uniquely Sweet at 888 E. Belvidere Road.
“All three businesses are excellent additions to the Grayslake business community. The two Something’s Brewing locations, in particular, enhance the viability of the Center Street and Washington Street business areas,” said Economic Development Commission Chairman Phil Harris.
The award is given annually to businesses/individuals who:
- Bring increased awareness of and positive recognition to Grayslake.
- Outstanding effort and/or investment in the community which strengthens the area’s economy.
- Makes a significant contribution to the expansion of the community’s tax base and the generation of additional revenue in the area’s economy.
- Promotes an environment that provides for additional job opportunities.
The award will be presented to Scholz at the Chamber of Commerce Installation Reception on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Emil’s Tavern on Center Street.
