Team Illinois U13 Gold won the U13B championship at the recent Cherry Bomb Lacrosse tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. The team is part of Lacrosse America, a travel Lacrosse organization made up of area players.

U13 Gold went 4-0 in pool play, and then defeated Louisville 5-3 in the quarterfinals, Ann Arbor 5-4 in the semifinals, and Forest Hills 10-7 in the championship.

The team was coached by Brian Cummings and assistant coach Joe Kent. Local players included Matthew Feldman and Shane Stanley of Grayslake, Joey Kreis of Wauconda, Thom Siegel of Lake Bluff, Casey Larson of Barrington, and Kyle Wagoner of Lake Zurich.
