This corner is cursed- I've seen my fair share of businesses come and go in the 20 years I've lived here- none of them ever very successful...

Personally, I've always wanted a KFC locally. With the northbound evening commuter traffic and the general heavy traffic load, I'd think it would do well. If anything goes in foodwise (in my opinion) it's got to have a drive through to do the volume necessary to survive. Not a technician though and don't know whether there is adequate space for one.

I'd like to see something that would pull people from outside the community. Like Harrison's Poultry in Glenview. Or a fresh produce market. Please, no more fast food joints.

Agreed, no more fast food. Would like to see something local, unique to extend the downtown Grayslake experience down Center Street.

I would LOVE to see a Trader Joes in town!!!

20 years ago it was a Hardee's. That didn't survive and nothing since has either. No wonder they were apparently selling more than food out of the last one. Don't think there is the space for a Trader Joe's or the like although that would be great.

Not Mexican, we have plenty of delicious Mexican restaurants around here including Rudy's just down the road. A gas station would make me sad. How about a good deli or bread shop with coffee? A new pizza place? A Pita Inn?

How about a Health Food Store/Juice Bar?

A Beer Market north, Binny's, a decent bike shop that serves coffee, drinks, etc. Keep fast food away. Casa de Issac north would be awesome - Rudy's tatses like every other mex joint in the area.

I got it, I got it, I got it! A tanning salon, dry cleaners or cell phone outlet.

Tony's Butcher Shop could move and add produce and a bakery. I'd love some place like that. Does anyone know what is going in on the corner of 120 and Lake - where the florist used to be located? They seem like they are doing a lot of work to the building???

No more Pizza, Burgers or Hot Dogs, PLEASE!!!! With the coming of Penn Station, I think we are set on fast and greasy food. I would just like to thank you for asking the community their thoughts. As you can see we are a community that travels for quality. It is time for quality to come here and join some of our wonderful new restaurants in the downtown area. Can't wait to see what exciting new venture will book-end our Center Street. Also, please feel free to visit our Village Hall and ask to see the results of the study done a couple of years ago done by a consulting firm. This study gave a terrific outlook on the needs and wants of the residents of Grayslake, through a survey.

I agree, no more restaurants - our local restaurants already have too much competition. We don't need anymore banks, and a gas station would look horrible. I would love to see a quality health food shop in Grayslake!

Here is an idea. Tear it down as well as the house behind it. Build a nice restraunt/steak house, with enough parking. It would do well......
