having turn signal lights to go south on 83 from Rt 120 & Center streets before or after the traffic going east mows you down traveling thru yellow and red lights.

Demolish the old Jack's and make it an attractive corner for other businesses. Come up with a comprehensive, new downtown plan for the Rt. 83 cooridor between Washington and Rt 120 to attract businesses and people. (Similar to Libertyville). Let the landfill contract expire and turn it into a ski hill. Stop talking about making Atkinson go through to 137, do it. Build a road to bypass Rt 120 and alleviate that nightmare traffic. Keep the Christmas decorations they did this year downtown. They were great! Really felt like Christmas downtown and that will attract people.

Keep the Farmers Market on Center Street! Moving it to Whitney Street is a huge disappointment for the downtown Merchants.

Bring more employers to Grayslake and increase our tax base! FedEx was a great catch...there is plenty of land for more distribution or light manufacturing. Building the 120 bypass would give the area the accessibility it needs. The Village needs to ramp up their efforts to compete for this development!

A D46 school board that effectively communicates with each other and works on effective compromise for the betterment of our schools. Our kids deserve it, and our taxpayers deserve it to.

An additional note... More employers giving us a bigger tax base would also be a big benefit to the schools and taxpayers, too.

Turn the RR crossings at 120, Center, Lake and 83 into over/underpasses. Put sidewalks all the way down 120.

Karen Hord, you've complained bitterly and personally attacked school board members. I dont recall seeing your name on the "who's running" list.
There are 3 people on the slate of 4 who are running for D46 school board that have been openly angry, vicious in some cases. Are we all holding out hope they will come in without chips on their shoulders?
How about everyone stops attacking a few, put aside their personal feelings, and step up to help.

Bring the downtown street lighting theme out to the subdivisions to create a common look and character to all of Grayslake.

Build the RT. 120 bypass, straighten the RT.83/RT.137 intersection. Get the county to widen RT. 137.

The street intersections seem to be one huge agonizing issue with most Grayslakers,particularly Rte 120 & 83,so if I could enact improvements I would turn Grayslake back into wetlands,leave a few acres for farming and retain the Prairie Crossing compound as they do like it Au Natrual. Sidewalks in all the main roads. I would love to be able to ride my bike with my daughters to pick up a few groceries. Also, I have to agree with the majority on this thread... the 83 & 120 intersection is a nightmare. Some tender love needs to be given there. Maybe more concerts or family fun events in the beautiful pavilion that gets rarely used.

Get people to walk/run on the sidewalks. Can't tell you how many times I see someone in the street when there are sidewalks on BOTH sides of the street.

Oh yes, bike trails that connect to each other and sidewalks so we can go to stores, libraries, and Allegheny park with our bikes.

The train crossing at Route 83 and Route 120 needs some major help. So many stopped trains over the past 6 months.

100 per cent of efforts needs to focus on attracting businesses, taxes are forcing homeowners out, and keeping buyers away. values down, taxes up sounds like a wonderful marketing plan....4% of home value is a joke....

Create a unified plan for the "branding" of Grayslake, including a plan for efficient lighting, more trees, paths, unique atmosphere, etc. Exercise eminent domain on the old fairgrounds property and craft a vision for this valuable piece of land that will eventually define Grayslake.

I second Jake's suggestion, a community fitness center with an indoor pool would be a major addition to the community.
