This class teaches children basic rules and information for responsible self-care. Students will learn how to enter their home safely, what to do when somebody knocks on the door, important phone numbers, how to answer the phone, and what to do when approached by a stranger, as well as safety precautions that will help prevent injuries and fires, and what to do in case of an emergency. We’ll stress the importance of following the rules and communication with parents/guardians. Students will receive an activity book and a certificate of completion and an informational hand out for parents.

From a Boogie Babies dance class to a Nifty Fifty-Plus seniors club, the Grayslake Community Park District truly offers something for all ages. There are 32 parks, about 16 trails, one golf course, one beach and a modern community center within the Park District. Their mission is: "enhancing the quality of life in the Grayslake community by providing year round leisure services, preserving open space and fostering community pride." It is a separate government agency. The district offers leisure programs, activities and special events for people of all ages.
