Matt's Mile and 5K will Feature Raffle, Awards
The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 4.
The Twelve Oaks Foundation will hold its annual Matt's Mile and 5K Oct. 4.
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. and will feature a 1-mile kids run and a 5K run/walk at Prairie Crossing. The event will also feature dinner, a deejay, raffle and awards.
The event's namesake, Matt Hupp, was a seventh-grader at St. Gilbert School in Grayslake when he was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma in 2009. He ultimately lost his battle with the disease. Matt's parents, Steve and Julie, created the Twelve Oaks Foundation in his memory.
