New Way to Test Software Skills

You say you’ve got good computer skills? How good are they? Maybe you’ve wondered or have an upcoming job interview that is sure to test your ability on the computer. Now you can test your skills with a new software program made available by Your College Link, a program of IGEN Career Pathways TAA CCCT grant. The grant, funded by the U.S, Department of Labor, is comprised of 17 Illinois community colleges, including the College of Lake County. The software program allows users to test their skills on Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite products. Results are available immediately after the self-assessment is completed. The program is the same one that many large companies use to test the computer proficiency of potential hires before a job offer is made. Taking the self-assessments can help you become familiar with a test in advance of a job offer. The tests also provide instant feedback on how your skills rank and let you know if additional training might be necessary. There is no charge to take the tests. Participation is open to adults residing in the College of Lake County District. For more information visit the Your College Link website at www.igencareerpathways.org/Your CollegeLink or email yourcollegelink@gmail.com or join us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/YourCollegeLink.
