An All-American Mutt to Love
Charlie Bear is an all-around great dog that needs a home.
Hi! I’m Charlie Bear, and I am the most adorable little guy! I’m an All American Mutt, and though I look “big” in photos, I’m only about 30 or so pounds. I lost my way, and despite how sweet and adorable I am, no one ever came to find me at the pound, and I heard them say that my time was “up”. I was hoping that meant I was going home, but then the nice people at Young at Heart came and got me, and my new life began.
My foster folks keep telling me I will get a new family that will love me forever, and I cannot wait because I am eager to snuggle on the sofa and love them with all my heart!
I am absolutely great with other dogs and very attentive, loving and affectionate with people. Although playful, I am gentle enough for younger kids. I am about 9 years young, quite perky for my years, healthy, and pretty quiet. When I do bark, which is not often, it’s a husky, throaty version that sounds all wrong for my smaller size. It always makes people laugh. My fur is gorgeous, if I do say so myself, and very colorful underneath. I may look fluffy but I actually don’t shed much at all. I have the cutest curly-Q tail that is usually tightly coiled and slightly off to the side. If you rub my rear I will s-l-o-w-l-y unfurl my tail before BOING, back into a curl it goes!

I am perfectly reliable in my house training, good on leash and easy in the car. I might try to climb over and co-pilot once or twice, but mostly I just sit nicely in the back seat looking out at the world. Although I have no problems with other dogs, I don’t necessarily need a playmate because I am kind of partial to my human companions (but not at all jealous or demanding about it with my foster sibling dogs). My house manners, quietness and general patience mean I could be a great apartment or condo dog. Although there are no kitties in my foster home, I’d probably be fine with them as roommates. I enjoy a yard but don’t have to have one of my own, and I have no intention of climbing, jumping or digging my way out because most of all I love to be with you! I can’t wait to find someone to love me forever. Is that you?
I’m healthy and already neutered, up-to-date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. My adoption fee of $175 allows Young at Heart Pet Rescue to help other older dogs and cats like me get a second chance at a happily ever after. Just fill out an adoption applicationto arrange a visit.
