Gay marriage approved: GOP gov. candidates breathe sigh of relief (for now)

SIGH OF RELIEF? Aside from those who will directly benefit from it, few people in Illinois should have been more relieved at the passage of the gay marriage bill on Tuesday than the four candidates competing for the Republican nomination for governor.

Music Institute Hosts 10th Annual MLK Concert

The Music Institute of Chicago honors the extraordinary legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. at its 10th annual celebration of the legendary civil rights leader, featuring the renowned Brotherhood Chorale of the Apostolic Church of God, Sunday, January 19 at 5 p.m. at Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue, Evanston. Ticket proceeds support the Music Institute’s William Warfield Memorial Scholarship Fund.

In Barbados, Dale was a successful 30-year-old businesswoman, working as a loan officer at a bank. Sente Announces Community Shred Day and Mobile Office Hours

On Saturday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, will be co-sponsoring a Recycle-O-Rama and Shred Day with the Vernon Hills Park District, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO), and Westfield Hawthorn Mall. Residents are encouraged to stop by the mall to take advantage of this free opportunity for eco-friendly electronics recycling and confidential document shredding.

Intro to Judaism Classes begin November 12th in Skokie

Intro to Judaism Classes will begin on Tuesday, November 12th from 7-9pm at Temple Beth Israel in Skokie.  The classes will be every Tuesday for a total of 17 weeks.  To register, go to www.reformjudaism.org/introil.
