Eggcellent Hunting at Area Park Districts

We hear the egg hunting in this area is really good this season!

It's too late to register your kids for the Grayslake Park District's Easter Egg Hunt if you haven't already, but egg hunts in neighboring Wildwood and Round Lake still have openings, so hop to it!

  • Flashlight Egg Hunt at the Round Lake Area Park District will be held 8-9 p.m. Friday, March 22 at Hart's Woods, 814 Hart Rd., Round Lake for ages 9-12. Cost is $5. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served after this outdoor event. Bring your flashlight! Call (847) 546-8558.
  • The Wildwood Park District Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at Rule Park for ages 1-8 years old, with children split into age groups. Cost is $3 for district residents; $4 for non-residents. Pre-registration on-line, by phone or in-person (office hours 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday) prior to the event is required. Call (847) 223-7275.
  • The annual egg hunt at Round Lake Area Park District will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23 at Hart's Hill Park, across from the community center. This family event is free. Bring your own bag or basket and come early because the eggs get scooped up fast!

Lake County Fairgrounds

  • RE/MAX Center's 16th annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 30 at the Lake County Fairgrounds at Peterson and Midlothian roads for ages 1-9 years old, with children split into age groups. Grab for more than 7,500 eggs and 300 prizes! Meet the Easter Bunny, too. This event is free, though attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Warren Township food pantry. Call (847) 223-7878.
