Friends of the Park Award Presented to Rick Missing

"It is people like Rick that make our Park District such a success," said Jeff Nehila, Grayslake Park District executive director.

The Grayslake Park District Board of Commissioners is proud to announce the recipient of the 2013 Friends of the Park Award to Rick Missing.

This annual prestigious award is presented to an individual or group that has shown outstanding voluntary service, dedication and support to the parks and recreation system of the Grayslake Community Park District. Rick Missing has been a volunteer youth basketball coach for the Park District for over 13 years, coaching both boys and girls.

Rick stated during his awards presentation that even though he no longer has a child in the program he continues to coach due to his love and passion for the sport and greatly enjoys working with children and teaching them the game. He also stated that it is his way to give back to his community.

“The Park District is very fortunate to have Rick be a part of our team of volunteer coaches and we cannot thank him enough for his years of dedication to the youth of our community. It is people like Rick that make our Park District such a success,” said Jeff Nehila, executive director.

The award was presented to Rick at the Park District’s July Board Meeting where the entire board thanked him for his time, energy and dedication to the Grayslake Park District.
