Grayslake to Light the Night for Newtown

Join Grayslake in showing support for the victims of the Newtown school shooting by placing a candle on your porch from 7-9 p.m. tonight.

To show their support for the 26 victims lost to Friday's , Grayslake residents will be placing a candle (real or flameless) on their porch from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight (Monday).

The suggestion was posted on the Grayslake Patch Facebook by resident Jennifer Heavrin and has since received 100 "Likes" and 85 shares.

"Can we start a Grayslake Community chain, putting a candle (regular or flameless) outside on your porch on Monday, December 17th, from 7-9pm, in honor of those that lost their lives (big and little angels) and for their families, support??? I remember doing this in St. Louis when I was a kid, for the hostages and it was a such an amazing act of support and to do, let's do it for SANDY HOOK..."
