"He Looks Like A Pink Nightmare"

One of the quotable lines from the classic holiday movie "A Christmas Story" can be applied to Grayslake's own Greg Koeppen, who was in Chicago recently for the theatre version of the show where he volunteered to put on the pink bunny suit.

"You'll shoot your eye out kid!" "It's fra-jee-lay. It must be Italian." "I triple-dog dare ya!"

The memorable lines from the movie A Christmas Story now are performed in live theater in A Christmas Story, The Musical!

Greg Koeppen of Grayslake spent a holiday evening with a friend in the city to see the show. But he didn't just sit back and watch. He volunteered to don the special pink bunny suit, which the character Ralphie received as a present instead of the one he desperately wanted, a Red Ryder BB gun.

Koeppen said he was comfortable in the bunny suit.

"Why not? Life is too short," Koeppen said. He said the musical at the Chicago Theatre was awesome.

"The actors have so much talent," he said.

The show runs through Dec. 30, and tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Could this be the start of second or third career for Koeppen? He is already the executive director of the Lake County Farm Bureau, owner/entertainer with Medleys in Motion Mobile DJ Service, along with numerous other civic leadership roles.

Is Broadway calling? Stay tuned.
