Lake County Exchange Clubs to Host Prayer Breakfast Nov. 20

The Exchange Club of Grayslake will join other Lake County Exchange Clubs Nov. 20 for the annual Prayer Breakfast. The community is invited to attend this free event.

Lake County Exchange Clubs will host the annual “One Nation Under God” Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Village Church of Gurnee, 1319 Hunt Club Rd.

This popular event will feature speaker Sgt. Michael Burke, US Marine Corps.  The entire community is welcome to attend this annual event which is offered free of charge again this year, due to the sponsorship of seven Lake County Exchange Clubs.

The annual “One Nation Under God” Prayer Breakfast has become a long standing tradition across America and serves to welcome the holiday season, as well as to honor the military men and women who have served and currently serve our country.

Community-wide event

This community-wide event draws Exchange Club members from seven Lake County clubs this year, including the Gurnee Exchange Clubs; the Grayslake Exchange Club; the Antioch, Lake Villa, Lindenhurst Exchange Club; the North Chicago Exchange Club; the Round Lake Exchange Club, the Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Exchange Club; and the Waukegan Exchange Club.

Volunteers from each club are working to make this year’s breakfast a joyous and meaningful event for all. 

In addition to the featured presentation by Sgt. Burke, the Lake County Bar Quartet and members from the Round Lake District 116 Panther Voices Choral Group will perform.

Other program highlights include: Welcoming Remarks by Dan Horan; Presentation of Colors by representatives from the Gurnee Police and Fire Departments Color Guard; Recognition of Veterans; Invocation by Pastor Todd Habegger, Senior Pastor at Village Church of Gurnee; and Benediction by Rev. Dr. Ruth Clark of St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Grayslake.
