Local Mom Needs Your Vote to Land Dream Job

The clock is ticking for a Grayslake mom to quickly earn enough online votes to win the Stay-at-Home "Millionaire" Mom contest on Facebook.

Kristen Foote wants your vote.

The Grayslake mother of two is not running for office. She is, instead, competing to win a Facebook contest so that she can be paid to stay at home with her kids and blog about children's products through a company called Hopscout. They are sponsoring the Stay-at-Home "Millionaire" Mom contest.

"This contest would mean that I could do something I LOVE to do while supporting my family," Foote said. "With the job that is up as the "prize," it would give me the opportunity to stay home and get to enjoy my little kids even more than I already do!"

Foote has kids of her own and has also been a surrogate mother. She blogs about all of it regularly. This contest, she said, would allow her to pursue her dreams of taking the writing further while staying at home.

To have a shot at winning, however, she needs lots of votes, and soon. The contest ends this Friday. Foote said she knows it is a long shot due to the short deadline, but she learned of the contest only recently and wanted to take a shot at it.

When asked why people should vote for her, Foote said it is all about karma.

"People should vote for me (and get their families and friends to vote!) because they believe in the power of karma," she said. "I believe that when you help someone out who is searching for it, it comes back to you ten-fold. I am a very passionate person; I love to write and create with words, and the only thing I can think of in life that would make me more happy is to get paid to do what I love to do!"

When not blogging, Foote said she enjoys getting out in Grayslake.

"I love that Grayslake has that "old town" feeling of community," she said. "You'll always find people outside playing with their kids or grandkids, or enjoying all that Grayslake has to offer. Definitely family-oriented, it is a place I forsee raising my kids into happy young adults. Between the festivals, farmer's market, community events, there is always something to look forward to."

To support Foote and her dream, click on the Stay-at-Home "Millionaire" Mom contest. Voting is a one-click process and there is nothing to sign up for or to download. You just have to be a member of Facebook to vote. The contest ends Friday.
