Local Soldier Receives Military Recognition

Sycamore Artillerymen Receives Physical Fitness Award

Sgt. Justin Leuck of Round Lake Beach, received the United States Army Physical Fitness Badge Nov. 19, at the Illinois Army National Guard armory in Sycamore from Capt. Dustin Cammack, battery commander.

Lueck scored 296 points on the Army Physical Fitness Test during the November drill weekend. The badge is awarded to soldiers who obtain a score of 270 points or higher, with a score of 90 points or above in each event, on the 300-point scale of the Army Physical Fitness Test.

Lueck serves as an ammo team chief for Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 122nd Field Artillery Regiment located in Sycamore. Lueck enlisted into the Army in 2007 and joined the Illinois Army National Guard in 2012. Lueck deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
