Madeline Lipka Named 2012 Volunteer of the Year
The Economic Development Commission grants the award for exceptional efforts in supporting economic development in Grayslake.
Resident Madeline Lipka was recently selected by the Village of Grayslake Economic Development Commission as the 2012 recipient of its Volunteer of the Year Award.
Lipka served in many capacities with the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce from 1994 to 2011, including president.
In addition to her work with the chamber, Lipka has been an active figure in the Lake County community as president and CEO of Community Trust Credit Union.

“Madeline’s dedication and service, not only to the Chamber of Commerce, but also to the community, has greatly benefited economic development in Grayslake,” said Phil Harris, Chairman of the Economic Development Commission.
The Volunteer of the Year Award, presented annually by the Economic Development Commission, recognizes individuals whose volunteer efforts support economic development in Grayslake. Candidates for the award are:

- Individuals who volunteer a significant amount of time on activities that support economic development in Grayslake.
- Individuals who participate in local civic organizations that support economic development related activities in the community.
- Individuals whose actions broaden the number of volunteer participants who support economic development activities.
Lipka will be presented with the award at the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce’s installation reception January 22.
