Megan Webster of Grayslake Joins Aurora University's National Honor Society

Grayslake North High School alum joins the National Honor Society at Aurora University.

Megan Webster of Grayslake was among 103 Aurora University sophomores inducted into the AU chapter of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society this fall.

The recognition is reserved for students who have earned above a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale for at least one semester freshman year. Webster is a mathematics major who graduated from Grayslake North High School.

Her family, parents Mimi and Trent Webster and brother Patrick, still live in Grayslake. "Megan's dad and I are so proud of everything Megan has accomplished at Aurora University," said Mimi Webster. "She continues to excel in all facets of her life and we are very excited for her future."

The Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, founded in 1923 at the University of Illinois, recognizes freshmen academic achievement. The AU chapter, founded in 1990, is among 300 chapters nationwide, according to a statement.

Aurora University has approximately 4,400 degree-seeking students who are enrolled each year on the university's Illinois and Wisconsin campuses. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association to award degrees at the baccalaureate, master's and doctoral levels.
