PHOTO GALLERY: 5th Annual Grayslake Park District Pumpkin Fest

The threat of rain forced the Grayslake Park District's 5th annual Pumpkin Fest indoors, so there were no hayrides and no bonfire, but plenty of kids enjoyed getting candy, playing games and meeting their favorite costumed characters.

With so many excited kids in one space, the Grayslake Park District's 5th annual Pumpkin Fest had its share of big smiles, squeals of laughter, and a few temper tantrums

Kids dressed in a variety of costumes, from pirates to princesses, visited different characters and collected treats. There were also Halloween-themed games and crafts, a bounce house and inflatable slide.

The park district decided to hold the event indoors when it looked like it might rain, which it did, about 10 minutes in. The park district's rec center was packed, though, and cars lined the street once the parking lot was filled to capacity.
