The three sisters donated a total of 33 inches of hair to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization in Florida that provides children under 21 with a custom, vacuum-fit, hair prosthetic.

The girls' mother, Bridget Verber, cut the girls' hair into matching graduated bobs.

Keys to Success:

The girls wanted to donate their hair, and they did it together for all the right reasons. It wasn't a quick process. The Verber girls waited a long time to do what they did. Laila had waited since she was born, Emmy waited three years and Bria, two years.

The hair cuts came last weekend. The girls were excited that their hair could hopefully bring a smile to another boy or girl who no longer had hair of their own due to cancer treatments, burns, trauma or alopecia areata.

Laila, 3, had 10 inches cut off.  She was excited to donate her hair to Locks of Love.

Emmy, 5, saw pictures of kids who needed the hair on the Locks of Love website. "I wanted the kids to have some hair,"  she said, before her mom started cutting.

Bria, 7, has been ready to donate again, since she donated for the first time in pre-school. Her hair had grown to almost 12 inches long as she waited until her sisters both had long enough hair that they could all get it cut together.

Locks of Love requires hair donations to be at least 10 inches long.

How You Can Help:

If you have a ponytail that is 10 inches or longer, you can donate your hair so that a child who has lost theirs can feel better and look like themselves again. For more information, visit www.locksoflove.org.
