Enjoy These Sunday Concerts

Take your family to see one of three concerts this weekend.

The Red Rose Children's Choir of Lake County is one of several choirs that will participate in a special concert to remember the lives lost at .

The choir will participate in the 'Healing the Brokenhearted' concert at St. James Cathedral, 5 E. Huron St., Chicago on Sunday, Jan. 13 at 5 p.m. The concert will be recorded and then broadcast at 7 p.m. on 98.7 WFMT, Chicago's classical radio station, and on WFMT's website.

The Grayslake Library will host the Winter Concert Series Sunday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Library, located at 100 Library Lane.  

The Concert of the New Year will feature Those Were the Days Radio Players, as they perform the episode "The Cheap Skate" from the old-time Burns and Allen Radio Show with special guest Jack Benny.

The audience will also learn how special effects were created for old-time radio.

 

The Wayward Sisters will perform at the Byron Colby Barn Sunday, Jan. 13 at 4 p.m.

This is the 11th season of the Early Music Series at the barn, located in Prairie Crossing at 1561 Jones Point Road in Grayslake. The Series features highly acclaimed musicians performing music from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods.

Admission to individual Early Music concerts is $18 for adults, and is available at the door only (cash or check). Children under the age of 16 is free.
