Letterio Calapai & Friends: A Look Back,” a new exhibit of more than 40 prints by the late Letterio Calapai and 19 of his friends, will runs through August 12.
Calapai lived from 1902 to 1993. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts School of Art and School of Fine Arts and Crafts. He was Professor of Fine Arts at New York University, Brandeis University and the University of Illinois.
Calapai was a printmaker with a career that spanned over 50 years. In 1984 he was named the "printmaker for the 20th Century" by The Chicago Sun Times.

His work is in the permanent collections at Metropolitan, Brooklyn and Boston Museums of Art; Art Institute of Chicago; Biblioteque Nationale– Paris; Bazalel Museum, Israel; Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo; Sydney Museum of Art, Australia; Rosenwald Collection; and other major museums and libraries in the U.S. and abroad.
