Lake County Singer Joins Team Cee Lo on The Voice

Chicago is well represented this year on the popular NBC show with three area singers who have made it through the blind auditions.

Vernon Hills "sandwich maker" Jamie Lono made it through the first round of live auditions on NBC's The Voice, Monday night. Lono works at Potbelly Sandwich Works.

The 22-year-old singer and guitar player wowed judges with his soulful rendition of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. Both Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green turned their chairs for him. Levine told Lono that his singing was different, which is what judges are looking for this year. Lono decided to go with Team Cee Lo.

Lono is a 2007 graduate of Vernon Hills High School, according to the Daily Herald.
