Supervisor Rusch & Assessor Ditton Miss Deadline (Update 7/28/13)

An update to the blog I posted last week about Rusch & Ditton missing an Illinois State Board of Elections Campaign Disclosure Deadline.

7/28/13 Update... I see our friends at Avon Action FINALLY filed their quarterly Financial Disclosers with the Illinois State Board of Elections.  They end the quarter with zero cash on-hand and $3500.00 IN-DEBT to Sam Yingling.

Initially I believed the delay in filing had to deal with cooking the books.  My suspicions  were confirmed when I noted the all previous filings were amended this past week.  Treasurer Ditton appears to have modified all previous reports so that the outcome reports what Avon Action wants us to believe.  What is evident is the amount of $$ spent during the campaign is no where close to what is being reported.  Looking at all their reports, there are so many inconsistencies to what was actually done during the campaign, Rusch and Ditton will surely be sweating when they are called to the State Board of Elections to explain.

Along the lines of cooking the books,  in the next few months we will be getting our Assessment Notices from Assessor Ditton.  If he cooked his campaign books, I can only imagine what surprises lie in store for us with property assessments.

Update 7/25/12....I called the Illinois State Board of Elections in Springfield to ask what happens when Campaign Disclosures are ignored.  I was informed that typically the organization will be fined and if the organization chooses not to pay the fine, they have the option to dissolve the organization.  However if a complaint is filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections, the Chairperson & Treasurer will be required to appear and disclose their financials prior to voluntary dissolution.

I have been informed a complaint has been filed!

Chairman of the Avon Action Political Party Committee (aka Township Supervisor Lisa Rusch)  & Treasurer of the Avon Action Political Party Committee (aka Township Assessor Chris Ditton) have missed the Illinois State Board of Election's deadline for Quarterly Campaign Disclosures. Disclosures were to be filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections by midnight on July 15th.  It is now 18 hours post deadline and there is still no activity from Avon Action.  Could they possibly be cooking the books?

Former opponents and some incumbents await the news of just how Avon Action financed the abundant follies of this past Consolidated Campaign Season.

But wait there is more..anyone can search the Illinois State Board of Election's website to discover the Avon Action Political Party Committee was well financed by former township supervisor and now State Representative Sam Yingling.  Yingling contributed $5000.00 from his "Friends of Sam Yingling Political Action Committee (PAC) and loaned an additional $5000.00 to finance his allies on the Avon Action Slate. He is a Democrat and they are Republicans (that is a different kind of bi-partisanship).  However, the 10K investment resulted in a loss of five out of 8 positions in Avon Township.....ouch!

Now I ask, if you contributed to "Friends of Sam Yingling" would you want your contribution to be used for his personal local special interests considering we all sent Yingling to Springfield to offer his expertise and help fix the state's problems?

Wake up Chairman Rusch and Treasurer Ditton...you are late and we are waiting.
