Schools Closed Monday Due to Weather

Schools throughout Grayslake, from preschools to Grayslake Central and North High Schools, are slated to be closed Monday, Jan. 27, due to the extreme cold.

According to the Emergency Closing Center website, the following schools will be closed: District 46 schools; Grayslake North and Central; all College of Lake County campuses; the Lake County High Schools Technology Campus; Prairie Crossing Charter School; Moving Mountains Montessori; Westlake Christian Academy; Gloryland Preschool; Old School Montessori; and Precious Lambs Preschool. 

The Grayslake Park District shared this message on Facebook: "Due to the extreme weather conditions, all I Love Learning Preschool classes will be canceled tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 27 along with any programs or basketball practices/games held in D46 schools.

All other recreation programs held at the Recreation Center, 240 Commerce Drive, Grayslake will run as scheduled."

Monday's forecast high temperature is just minus 6, with wind chill values as low as minus 33. The wind chill values could reach as low as 41 degrees below zero Monday night and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service
