When and how did your business get started? I opened my business Jan. 1, 2000. Real estate was a hobby that I turned into a career.
What is your business best known for? Our most popular program is a deep discount MLS listing service. For $450 we will put a sellers house on the local MLS (where realtors look for homes) and also on about 800 websites. If they sell by owner, they don't pay anything additional. If the buyer is represented by a realtor, the seller will pay that realtor a commission. Most of my clients offer 2.5 percent but they can choose whatever they wish. The seller answers their own phone and opens their own door. I help negotiate the contract.

What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know? Most people do not know how much real estate we move using this program. This year we are on track to close more than $70 million in real estate. Most people do not even know that this program exists. They think they have two choices: FSBO, which is cheap but with limited exposure, or for sale with a realtor, which is expensive but has tons of exposure. I bridge that gap.
Why did you choose Grayslake to open your business? Grayslake has a small town community type feeling. That is why I live here. My business services all of northern Illinois and I am virtual so the exact location of my business does not affect my production, but I like living in Grayslake.
