Capture Your Dog on Camera at Woof-toberfest

The second annual event will serve as a fundraiser for Save-A-Pet.

Appointments are still available for this weekend's Woof-toberfest, which will allow dog owners to not only capture their beloved pooches on camera but also to support Grayslake's Save-A-Pet.

Capture the Moment Photography and Public Service Practicum (PSP) students from Grayslake North High School are teaming up for the second annual event, which will be held Oct. 26-27. For a $20 donation and a large case or bag of Pedigree dog food, pet owners will receive a complimentary 5x7 photo of their dog, along with a customized doggy gift bag.

"It's a fun day and it's a great fundraiser," said Sue Kamman, owner of Capture the Moment Photography, located at 970 Harris Road, Suite 2B. The shop is located in the Station Square shops of Prairie Crossing. "It's awesome."

Kamman said she photographed about 18 dogs at last year's inaugural event. As of Thursday morning, she already had 15 people signed up to bring their dogs to this weekend's event.

"It's just taken off," said Kamman.

Dogs will sit for a 15- to 20-minute photo shoot, indoors or outdoors. The PSP volunteers will collect the food and usher dogs into the studio. The students also crafted a press release about the event and distributed information to local businesses.

"It's really cool, and the kids are so instrumental in the whole thing," said Kamman.
