Catalogs To Cuisine: The Sears Story

Learn the history of the Sears family and their former Country Squire restaurant in Graylake.

Some called it the Sears Mansion. Others remember it as the Country Squire. Come to the Community Room of the on Library Lane on Thursday, June 21 at 2:30 p.m. to hear “Catalogs to Cuisine: the Sears Story.”  

Local historian Charlotte Renehan will give a pictorial sequence of events in the life of the Sears family, leading up to the Country Squire Restaurant. At the conclusion of the program, attendess will be encouraged to tell their remembrances of dining at the Squire. 

This program is one of the many outreach programs that the has to offer. The program is free but first time visitors to the Grayslake Senior Center are asked to stop at the office and sign in.
