Grayslake Spring Market Opens April 6

What's your favorite part of the Farmers Market?

Residents, get those reusable bags ready: the Grayslake Farmers Market season is set to kick-off April 6.

That day will mark the start of the Spring Market, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays from April 6—May 25.

Julie Jason, manager of operations and vender relations for the Farmers Market, said there will be 20 vendors at this year's Spring Market. Shoppers can expect lots of returning favorites, like Lester's Bison Farm, The Meat Goat, The Cheese People and Wild Flour Bakery.

"We try to appeal to all types of shoppers that enjoy coming to a farmers market," said Jason. "We provide entertainment, we provide children's activities and we provide a selection of fresh produce, meats, eggs, cheeses and other value-added market products."

Guests can also have their photo taken with a cardboard cutout of President Abraham Lincoln at the opening day of the Spring Market.

"And Farmer Gray will be back and he'll have surprises for the kids," said Jason.

This will mark the seventh year of the Spring Market.

"I'm hoping it's going to be an 80-degree day," said Jason.

The market will be held on Center Street starting west of Whitney Street, and in Centennial Park.

Jason said shoppers can also take advantage of the parking lot near Whitney and Center.

Jason thanks the shoppers, vendors and sponsors for the market's success. She runs the market with Grayslake Farmers Market President Steve Sarich and board members Judy Abate and Joan Schultz.
