Hunt For Treasure At Hainesville Thrift Store

The Hainesville Thrift store has a little bit of everything for those who love a bargain.

You never know what you'll find at a thrift store. That's what makes them so much fun to root around in.

The Hainesville Thrift store, located at the intersection of Route 120 and Route 134, has been open for about five months, but few people know about it, as there is little advertising except for a small yellow sign near the intersection.

Owner Tom Lee, of Lake Villa, said he has a keen eye for hidden treasures, traveling to Chicagoland auctions several times a week to bring back new loot for his thrift store.

"We have variety, everything you need for your home," he said.

This includes furniture, small appliances and housewares along with jewelry, clothes, books, musical instruments such as guitars, and lots of tools. Right now there's even a stained glass window for sale.

The store is not a donation drop-off site, but rather a resale shop. And if you have an item that's acutely interesting or valuable, Lee said he'd be happy to take a look at it.

Stop by Hainesville Thrift at 45 Route 120 in Hainesville and take a look around for yourself.

Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The store is closed Sunday and Monday.

Happy hunting!
