Consumers Credit Union Hosts 84th Annual Meeting

Announcement of scholarship winners, election of Directors highlight meeting

Grayslake, IL February 18, 2014:  Consumers Credit Union (CCU) will host its 84th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Keylime Cove Resort in Gurnee, IL.  The meeting is open to Members of the credit union and invited guest, including local high school seniors who’ve each earned one of six (6) $1500.00 scholarship winners from Consumers Cooperative Association.  Additionally, the meeting features the election of four (4) Members to the credit union’s Board of Directors.

“Our Annual Meeting is always one of the highlights of our year,” noted Sean M. Rathjen, CCU President/CEO. “The meeting provides an opportunity for Members to elect Directors to serve on our Board of Directors, to hear the highlights from 2013 and to take a look ahead at our plans for the coming year.  Members have a chance to mix and mingle among themselves and enjoy a great meal, while the credit union has an opportunity to express our appreciation to Members for their business.”

The Annual Meeting agenda includes a “welcome” as well as opening remarks from John R. Janezic, CCU’s Chairman of the Board, followed by Sean Rathjen’s President’s Report, detailing the credit union’s 2013 financial performance, along with comparisons to financial institutions on both a local and national level.  Next on the agenda, Members will vote for representation on the all-volunteer Board of Directors.  Those unable to attend may vote in advance by proxy ballots, which are available at all six CCU locations and online at www.myconsumers.org.

Nominees for election to the Board of Directors include the following (listed alphabetically by last name, along with city of residence; incumbents are identified with an “I” following their names):  Nancy Anderson, Ingleside, IL; Scott Drabicki, Vernon Hills, IL; Denise Charts (I), Libertyville, IL; John Janezic (I), Green Oaks, IL; Sam Johnson-Maurello, Beach Park, IL; Samreen Khan, Gurnee, IL; and Todd Woodson Gurnee, IL.

Approximately 300 Members and guests are expected to attend the meeting, held this year at Keylime Cove Resort, 1700 Nations Dr. in Gurnee, IL.  Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m.  2013 Annual Reports will also be distributed at the meeting.  Tickets are available at all CCU branches for $15.00 on a first-come, first served basis; no tickets will be sold at the door.
