Volo's AtomOS provides IT safety net for U.S. Curling Team in Sochi

When the U.S. Olympic curling team competes in Sochi, Russia they can devote their efforts to bringing back gold instead of bringing back a computer virus.  Russia has earned a reputation for creating an IT atmosphere that is often prone to hacking when users turn on their computers or smartphones to send emails or post updates on social media.

Protecting the data for U.S. Curling is Atom AMPD, a long-time supporter and sponsor, which has developed the AtomOS® Kwick Key™, a highly integrated multi-functional solution that provides the team with firewall, wireless and Voice over IP (VoIP).

“We recognized that while curling is a 500-year old sport that isn’t known for its sophisticated technology, there is no reason that they shouldn’t have access to today’s most effective spam and antivirus protection, especially in a vulnerable area like Russia. So AtomAMPD has partnered with the USA Curling National Office to ensure safe communication between team members and their audiences,” said Daniel Field, CEO, and president of Atom AMPD, LLC.

“Thanks to Atom AMPD’s financial and technical support, our Olympic Curling athletes can travel to Sochi with peace of mind knowing that while thousands of miles away, AtomAMPD is protecting the security of their data and communication,” said Rick Patzke, USA Curling Chief Operating Officer.
