Cookie Crumbles...Bits & Pieces about the Stories behind 2t. Spoons Cookies

Welcome to Cookie Crumbles - a blog about 2t. Spoons Cookies and the stories that make them extra sweet. Stories?  Oh yes...it's the bits and pieces behind the cookies that make us love our little business.   Sure, we can pretty much create any decorated cookie we get requests for, but it's our customers' stories about the occasion, the circumstances, the cause etc. that make our labor of love rewarding.  So, after 3 years of baking we thought it was time to start sharing!

Marathon Cookies:  1 Race, 2 Countries & 3 Sisters!
One of our favorite stories is about the cookies our friend ordered to take to Canada to commemorate a marathon her sisters were running in.  The marathon route went from the U.S. into Canada, so they thought this race would be especially fun since they are spread between the 2 countries. She told me they would be running through the town her Mother (who passed away a few years ago) grew up in.

The cookie we created reflected the race logo - the stars represented America, the maple leaf represented Canada and the red line depicted the race going between the 2 countries.  We wanted to add a special tribute to their Mother so we put a halo over the maple leaf as a sign of her watching over them.  We were thrilled to be a part of their memorable event.

Our customer later told us she was so excited about the cookies, that she ran back to the car (after she had already run 26.2 miles!) to get a cookie to give to "Marathon Woman" Katherine Switzer.  Katherine is "the girl who started it all" - she was the first woman to officially enter and run in the Boston Marathon.   We hope she loved the extra sugar boost!

2t. Spoons Cookies & Sweets salutes all those running in the Chicago Marathon this weekend and the people who inspire them!
