5 Things To Do This Week

Here are five events happening in Grayslake this week that you may want to check out.

  • opens in the former Rudy's Mexican Grill early this week. Owner Rudy Garza partners with chef Alvaro Chavez for the new concept and new restaurant, located at 55 Barron Blvd.

 

  • SWALCO, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake Couny, unveils a new campaign to increase curbside recycling county-wide Wednesday, Sept. 12. Part of a National Partnership Campaign, the program is designed to educate residents about all of the materials that can be recycled curbside in Lake County.

  • The board will meet Thursday, Sept. 13 at Grayslake Central High School, located at 400 N. Lake Street, in room 1595. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Topics on the agenda include GCHS donation recommendations and various committee reports.

 

  • The Knights will play their homecoming game against Johnsburg Friday, Sept. 14. The sophomore game will begin at 5 p.m. and the varsity game is set to start at 7:15 p.m.

  • The will take to the Central Park fileds Saturday, Sept. 15 beginning at 9 a.m. The Home Run for Education will benefit the Academic Enrichment Scholarship Fund, classroom mini-grants, D46 Destination ImagiNation and the Hovercraft Project. Registration is open to all members of the community who are 18 years of age or older through the day of the event.
