CLC Memorial Day Ceremony Friday

An outdoor Memorial Day ceremony featuring staff from Naval Station Great Lakes will be held at Grayslake's College of Lake County at noon Friday.

The sixth annual College of Lake County Memorial Day ceremony will begin at noon on Friday, May 24. The ceremony is being sponsored by the CLC Veterans Memorial Task Force Committee and will be held outdoors at the CLC Willow Lake Veterans Memorial on the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

Staff from Naval Station Great Lakes will support the event with a chaplain, color guard, echo buglers, the 13 folds of the flag ceremony, along with the U.S. Marine Corps drill team. The ceremony will also include speakers, bagpipers and the singing of the national anthem by Kamila Lada, a senior at Round Lake High School.

Individuals who have made donations to the CLC Foundation for tribute bricks to support construction of the memorial are invited to view their bricks, and all community members, veterans and families of those serving in the armed forces are welcome to attend.
