Elderly Woman with Dementia Reported Missing

The Lake County Sheriff's Office is seeking the community's assistance in locating a 74-year-old Lake Villa woman who went missing after a car accident in Glencoe Tuesday afternoon.

A 74-year-old Lake Villa woman suffering from dementia was reported missing Tuesday after she was involved in a car accident that occurred in Glencoe, reported the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Patricia M. Simonsen, of the 23000 Block of Petite Lake Rd., Lake Villa was last seen around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday on Green Bay Rd between Lake Cook and Wesley roads in Glencoe after she was involved in a traffic accident.

She was driving a dark blue 2013 Mazda CX5 with Illinois license plate P121083. Damage was sustained from the accident on the passenger side of the vehicle, according to a sheriff's press release.

Simonsen’s height is 5-foot-two-inches. She weighs 120 pounds and has blue eyes and short gray hair. She has a fair complexion and small build. She was last seen wearing a blue button up sweatshirt, baggy light blue jeans, white velcro gym shoes, red eyeglasses and possibly has on a silver watch. She is carrying a black and gray Coach purse. 

Simonsen enjoys shopping at dollar stores and Kmart. She is unlikely to stop for directions and does not have a history of disappearing.
