Former GCHS Assistant Track Coach Arrested

Man accused of molesting teenage girl.

A former assistant track coach who worked at Grayslake Central High School was charged with molesting a high school student.

Tony Hseieh, 28, of Buffalo Grove, was charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in the alleged molestation. Bond was set at $250,000.

"District 127 is fully cooperating with the investigation," said Superintendent Catherine Finger.

District officials have been cooperating with law enforcement authorities and will continue to cooperate with those authorities and the Office of the State’s Attorney, said Finger.

Federal and State law and Board of Education policy prohibit harassment of students and staff. In the event of a complaint of harassment, the District conducts a prompt investigation to determine whether harassment has occurred and takes action to ensure a safe and harassment-free educational environment for all," Finger said in a statement.

When there is a reasonable suspicion that a student has been abused or neglected, Illinois law requires that a prompt report be made to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, she stated.

The Board of Education and the District administration "assure the Grayslake community that the District has followed applicable law and the Board’s policy in connection with this matter. The Board of Education and the District administration endeavor to provide a safe and harassment-free educational environment for all students and staff."
