Where / When: Greenbelt Forest Preserve, 1215 Green Bay Rd., North Chicago; 7 - 9 p.m.; Friday, May 20.

Why Go? Enjoy the magic of a campfire, roast marshmallows, listen to music, make crafts and more at this family event. Enter the Greenbelt Forest Preserve from the west side of Green Bay Road, south of Belvidere Road, across from the entrance to the Greenbelt Cultural Center. Meet at Shelter D.

Where / When: White Deer Run Golf Club, 250 W. Greggs Pkwy., Vernon Hills, 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 20.

Why Go?: Play in a four-person scramble, eat lunch and then stay for a reception, awards dinner and silent auction. Proceeds will go to the CLC Foundation's scholarship fund to help CLC students reach their educational goals.

Pricing: $275 donation; $50 to attend evening reception only

Where / When: , Grayslake Campus, Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art; 7 - 9 p.m., Friday, May 20.

Why Go?: Roland Miller, from Grayslake, will have photographs that examine the winding-down of the Space Shuttle Program on exhibit. Steven Mark, from Antioch, will display photographs from his documentary on Galt Airport in Greenwood, Illinois.

Celebrate the opening of these exhibits, which will be open from May 20 to July 1, at this reception.

Where/When: , Libertyville; 8:30 a.m., Saturday, May 21.

Why Go?: Celebrate the 9th Annual World No Tobacco Day and walk to honor loved ones who have lost their lives to a tobacco related illness while supporting efforts to reduce tobacco use. The walk is sponsored by the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center. Enter the drawing for an i-pod, free face painting for kids, free health screenings and energy snacks.

Pricing: No entry fee

Where/When: Ray's Bike and Mower, 612 E. Hawley St., Mundelein; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 22.

Why Go: Bicycle safety checks and safety talks by police and emergency medical technicians. Special entertainment by Pro-Riders, games, activities, raffles and picnic. Free hot dogs, chips and soft drinks.

Where/When: Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Dr., Lincolnshire; 8:30-11 p.m. Friday, May 20.

Why Go?: 'Stache performs hits from Fall Out Boy, Blink 182 and The Killers, Taio Cruz, Neon Trees and Mike Posner in their high-energy show. Bar and kitchen open.
