Get Out: Colts Golf Outing, Relay for Life and More

Looking for something fun to do this weekend after this crazy week of storms and power outages? We've got some great ideas for you.

1.

Where/When: , Parking Lot 3; 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Friday, July 15.

Why Go?: Support the completion of the bronze statue, part of the CLC Willow Lake Veterans Monument. Proceeds will also benefit the U.S. Marines Family Readiness Program, the U.S. Navy First Class Association, the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Dawg's of Round Lake will provide a hot dog lunch with chips and a drink in exchange for your charitable donation.

Where / When: ; 12 p.m., Friday, July 15.

Why Go?: Support the Grayslake Colts and enjoy a day of golf. Play an 18 hole scramble with a noon shotgun start. Compete for the longest drive, longest putt, closest to the hole and more. Fee includes the golf and cart, hot dog, chips and a drink and awards ceremony.

Pricing: $35 per person

Where/When: ; 6:30 p.m., Friday, July 15.

Why Go?: See the film Double Indemnity, starring Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck  on the big screen at the library. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded. This after-hours adult film discussion is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Where/When: Round Lake Senior High School, 800 High School Dr., Round Lake; 6 p.m. Saturday, July 16 - 6 a.m. Sunday, July 17.

Why Go?: The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Grayslake/Round Lake Area is a celebration of the lives of people who have battled cancer, a chance to remember lost loved ones, and to help fight back against the disease. Teams camp out at Round Lake High School and take turns walking or running around the track all night long.

Where / When: , 32400 Harris Rd, Grayslake; 9 - 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 16.

Why Go?: Take a tour of a yard in Green Oaks. Hear stories and advice from the homeowners. Learn how your property can be beautiful while contributing to surrounding ecosystems. This event is for adults only. Call 847-548-5989 for more information on the location of this tour.

Pricing: $8 for conservancy members; $13 for non-members
