Grab & Go Kids Planner: Egg Hunts, Earth Week and More

Here is this week's list of suggestions for fun things to do with your kids this weekend.

Why Go?: Kids up to age 6 will hunt for eggs and visit with Mr. Bunny. Be sure to bring your camera.

Pricing: $5 for residents; $10 for non-residents

 

Where / When: , 14245 W. Rockland Rd., Libertyville; Saturday and Sunday, April 16 and 17.

Why Go?: Visit the newborn lambs and have your child's portrait taken by Jonathan's Portraits. The sitting fee will be donated to Lambs Farm. Call 847-769-0898 for an appointment.

Pricing: $50 sitting fee

 

Where / When:  Panera Bread, 6557 Grand Ave., Gurnee; 1 - 2 p.m., Sunday, April 17.

Why Go?: Decorate a freshly baked Easter Egg cookie with your kids. 10 cents from every Easter Egg cookie purchase will go to Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Pricing: Varies

 

Where / When: ; 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Saturday, April 16.

Why Go?: Over 7,500 eggs and 300 prizes will be scattered for children ages 1 - 8 to find. Take photos with the Easter Bunny and his friends. Please bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.

    Where / When: , 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake; 9:30 a.m., Friday, April 15.

    Why Go?: The whole family is invited to see the amazing circus skills of Mr. Fish and Trent the Mime who will prove that science can be both fun and funny. They'll use beach balls, bubbles and boomerangs to demonstrate the principles of friction, inertia, aerodynamics and air pressure.

    Pricing: $10 per person

     

    Where / When: Almond Marsh in Grayslake; 9 a.m., Saturday, April 16.

Why Go?: Bring some work gloves and join other volunteers in saving some of Lake County's natural areas. This is a great opportunity to spend quality family time outdoors while making a meaningful contribution. Visit www.LCFPD.org/restoration for more details.

Where / When: Center Street in Downtown Grayslake; 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, April 16.

Why Go?: Let your kids help you pick out some fresh fruits and vegetables. Buy cheeses, meats, baked goods and flowers too.

Pricing: Free admission

 

Where / When: Ryerson Woods Welcome Center, 21950 N. Riverwoods Rd., Riverwoods; 1 -  4 p.m.; Sunday, April 17.

Why Go?: Bring the whole family out to celebrate the arrival of spring and the 41st anniversary of Earth Day with nature walks, crafts, games, sheep herding and sheep shearing.
