Heat Wave Predicted for Grayslake, Northern Illinois

Temperatures are supposed to be in the 90s for several days next week.

The National Weather Service is predicting a heat wave for northern Illinois starting Sunday and continuing through at least Thursday.

Conditions are expected to be humid during the heat wave, making temperatures in the 90s feel like they are closer to 100.

"Temperatures Sunday are expected to rise into the lower 90s Sunday, with heat index values approaching 100 degrees," the National Weather Service said in a prepared statement.

"After minor relief in the heat and humidity Tuesday...temperatures Wednesday and Thursday may push into the middle 90s. Heat index values may also push back above 100 degrees both of these days as well," the National Weather Service stated.
