I-PASS Computer System Hits Snafu

I-PASS users could see unexpected activity in their bank accounts.

The Illinois Tollway's I-PASS system erroneously began a cycle of account charges and refunds on Dec. 9 to I-PASS accounts that were scheduled for automatic balance replenishment.

As a result, I-PASS customers may notice unnecessary charges and refunds from the Illinois Tollway on their credit and debit cards.

Tollway officials are working to ensure that all I-PASS automatic replenishment accounts have been correctly refunded. They are also working with banks to ensure that customers do not incur overdraft fees as a result of this computer problem.
