Sente Invites Area Veterans to Attend Job Resources Fair

Veterans from throughout the area can get help finding jobs.

To provide Illinois veterans with valuable job resources, state Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) is hosting a Veterans Job Resource Fair on Wednesday July 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held at the College of Lake County’s South Lake Campus, Conference Room V336, located at 1120 S. Milwaukee Ave., Vernon Hills.

“We owe a great debt of gratitude to our servicemen and women for their sacrifice and dedication,” Sente said. “As a legislator, it is my responsibility to help our veterans build a life after their time in the service. This resource fair will help veterans find an abundance of information including what jobs are available to veterans at state agencies, how to earn Veterans Preference Points for employment, how to apply for a CDL to drive state trucks and where to take the Illinois Civil Service exam among other resources. I encourage all area veterans and their families to attend this event.
