Thunderstorms, Heavy Rainfall Possible Tuesday

The National Weather Service reports a chance of thunderstorms early Tuesday into Tuesday evening.

Heavy rainfall is possible during this period which may cause additional rises on rivers and prolong receding flood waters. River flooding is expected to gradually subside through the week.

Grayslake

  • Tuesday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Temperature rising to near 53 by 8 a.m., then falling to around 42 during the remainder of the day. South southeast wind around 10 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Tuesday night: Rain showers likely before 1 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Cloudy, with a low around 34. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
